Forced prostitution is human trafficking for the purpose of sexual exploitation. According to the Federal Criminal Police Office, it is precisely this aspect of human trafficking that is increasing significantly in Germany.

With false promises and manipulation, women end up in forced prostitution. This inflicts the worst human rights violations on women.

Pimps are behind this forced prostitution. Sometimes these pimps or so-called Loverboys are part of large human trafficking rings, but sometimes they are also family members or the women's (spouse) partners.

They have to give (almost) all of their income to the pimps, loverboys, family, partners, etc. They often live where they work and have no place to retreat. Through threats, violence and constant control (some of which also takes place over the telephone), the women are often held in forced prostitution.
