Definitions of terms
An international definition of the term human trafficking can be found in the so-called Palermo Protocol
Sexual exploitation and forced prostitution almost exclusively affect young women, some of whom are still underage.
The difficulty with all forms of human trafficking is that the crimes are often only uncovered through police control measures.
